The 67C Transalpina National Road is closed until next summer, due to the unfavorable weather, the Traffic Info Center from the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police reports.
Traffic was interrupted on Sunday morning, at 10:30, due to the worsening weather conditions, and will resume on the last day of June 2021.
The closed section has 25 km, between Ranca, from Gorj county, and Obarsia Lotrului, Valcea county. The other high-rise road in the country DN7C Transfagarasan closes on Tuesday between Piscul Negru, in Arges County, and Bâlea Cascadă, in Sibiu County.
It snowed there on Sunday morning and an intervention was needed to keep the road in circulation, RRA correspondent Carmen Vulcan reports.
Drivers who still choose Transfagarasan these days are advised to have their cars equipped for the winter.
