The Minister of Interior, Traian Igaş, announced that he had ordained the effectuation of an investigation in Deta, concerning a scandal in which the sons of the town's mayor were involved.
He added that the Chief of Police was already in Deta and was investigating the circumstances in which three persons had been wounded with a sword.
"At the moment, Liviu Popa is in Deta and is carrying out the investigation", Traian Igaş stated, quoted by Agerpres.
On Saturday night, the youngest son of the mayor from Deta, Călin Roman, along with three other youngsters who were involved in the scandal which led to three persons being stabbed, was apprehended and interogated.
The mayor's eldest son, Bogdan Roman, who is a suspect in this case, is still being sought by the policemen.
According to the Timiş County Police Inspectorate, the two sons of the mayor from Deta were accused of offense against good mores, corporal assault and of illegally carrying white weapons in the public space.
The Prosecutor's Office attached to the Trial Court of Timiş has undertaken the investigation in which the two sons of the mayor from Deta, Petru Roman, are being put under accusation. The reason for this fact is the scandal's mediatic impact, the low number of prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Trial Court of Deta and the necessity for rapid solving of the file.
The Romanian Police specified that at the moment when the conflict from Deta occurred, there were no policemen in the area and that the forces of order intervened at an ulterior moment in order to settle down the scandal and in order to search for the suspects.
