Bucharest has a new prefect starting today. Traian Berbeceanu took the oath of office and promised the people of the capital that he would offer them solutions, not excuses or justifications.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the elected general mayor of Bucharest, Nicusor Dan, but also several ministers, such as the Minister of Internal Affairs, Marcel Vela, who told the new prefect that he will have to manage several problems in a complicated period, such as the health protection of the people of Bucharest and the preparation of the parliamentary elections.
Traian Berbeceanu replaces Gheorghe Cojanu, dismissed by the government yesterday and criticized by President Klaus Iohannis for not having a coherent plan for managing the COVID-19 epidemic in Bucharest, RRA reports, quoted by Rador.
