Prime Minister Victor Ponta states that the Constitutional Court's decision will be respected and implemented.

The Prime Minister made it clear that, from the point of view of Government, this referendum has been organised properly and confirmed the opinion of the Romanians.

"87 per cent of those who voted were asked to replace a President elected with 5 million votes and ousted with 7 million votes," he said.

Victor Ponta also said that the Government has a duty to listen to the voice of the people and to take action.

"It is clear that President Traian Băsescu will be an illegitimate President, a President of the Constitutional Court. The Government will defend Romanians from Băsescu regime, " said the Prime Minister.

"The USL Government has no debt with President Traian Băsescu. The only duty is to the people that we voted against Parliament. I will not accept that Traian Băsescu to be as he was until May 7, the President, the Prime Minister the head of the judges as well the head of the prosecutors, "said the Prime Minister.

Asked if cohabit cu Traian Băsescu, Prime Minister avoided a clear answer and was convinced that he would invent penal cases.

"If we're talking strictly about the relationship between me and President Traian Băsescu, as I expected, and on May 7, I am convinced that I will be removed files from 20 years ago, that I will be invented penal cases, said Victor Ponta.

Victor Ponta said that constitutional reform is needed to ensure that "Romania will no longer be located at the hand of a single person. These reforms will be discussed in the Government, and then be forwarded to the Parliament ".

The new fundamental law should provide clearer powers of the institutions, as well as a control system between the powers and means so as to avoid future tragedies "like the" the Băsescu regime", also said Premier Victor Ponta.

The Prime Minister also said that "the Government must listen to the voice of the people and must act accordingly".

President Traian Băsescu returns from Cotroceni

President Traian Basescu returns to Cotroceni Palace, after the Constitutional Court ruled that the referendum on his dismissal did not have the necessary quorum.

According to the President of CC, Augustin Zegrean explained that judges of the Court found that the referendum was carried out correctly, and has complied with the law but has not met the condition for a quorum on the participation of the Romanians to vote, namely half plus one of the number of voters enrolled on the electoral roll.

Judges are to meet Wednesday at 10: 00 pm for reading of the judgment in front of the Court.

Prior to its publication in the Official Gazette the decision is presented to the Chamber of Deputies and Senate met in joint session.
