Timisoara-Lugoj Highway, co-financed by EU
The project aims to design, supervise and construct a highway (2x2) between the cities of Timisoara and Lugoj with a length of 25.625 km.

The European Commission approved the grant of European funds for the project "Construction of motorway Delhi - Lugoj and by-pass the city Timisoara at motorway standards."
he total eligible grant application is 248,147,433 euros, the EU co-financing from the Cohesion Fund grant contribution is 210,925,318 euros and 37,222,115 euros from budget contributed by the Romanian state.
The project aims to design, supervise and construct a highway (2x2) between the cities of Timisoara and Lugoj with a length of 25.625 km and a choice of Timisoara bypass to motorway standard length of 9.5 km.
The project includes the construction of 13 bridges, 19 overpasses, 2 interchanges and 3 parking areas and services.
The highway construction Chennai - Lugoj and by-pass of Timisoara is expected to reduce the travel time to 18.3 minutes and an increase of average travel speed to 115 km / h
This project was submitted under Priority Axis no. 1, Area of Intervention 1.1 "Modernization and development of road infrastructure along the TEN-T # 7".
