TIFF begins at Cluj
Cluj is set to be the new European film capital for ten days and, according to the organizers, tickets purchased at least one day in advance cost 8 RON. For pupils, students and pensioners the price is set at 6 RON.

The 11th edition of the Transylvania International Film Festival, TIFF, is due to start on Friday evening.
For ten days Cluj will be a film capital where moviegoers will be able watch hundreds of films and meet famous directors and actors both from Romania and abroad.
Friday, the citizens of Cluj will be able to watch the restored color version of the cinematic masterpiece of George Méličs "Trip to the moon", marking 110 years since the film’s first projection.
The comedy "About men and snails"directed by Tudor Giurgiu, will be projected this evening in Unirii Square, Cluj-Napoca, during the festival’s opening.
The actors Monica Bârlădeanu, Dorel Vişan, Albert Dima, the script writer Ionuţ Teianu and the director Tudor Giurgiu will be among the celebrities ,who will make their appearance on the red carpet at the opening gala.
According to the organizers , tickets purchased at least one day in advance before the projection cost 8 RON for pupils, students and pensioners , the price is set at 6 RON.
TIFF on the mobie phone
According to Mediafax, the attendees of the Transylvania International Movie Fest will be able to pick and choose from a multitude of events and projections thanks to a few mobile phone applications developed under the general smarTIFF brand.
The press release issued Friday by the TIFF organizers informs us that there are three no-cost multi-use applications available for download that will help the spectators to find fast the places where the events will take place, verify the festival’s schedule and even purchase tickets.
An application called "happy TIFF"is dedicated to all smartphone owners and constitutes a challenge for movie lovers to go to 30 city key points and find 30 trailers of a few movies featured at the festival.
