This year, the "George Enescu" festival will have a section in Timisoara

Articol de Radio România Timişoara, 31 Martie 2023, 21:29

A section of the "George Enescu" Festival will take place in Timisoara this year, when the city holds the title of European Capital of Culture.

The event will be facilitated by the Ministry of Culture, not by the Timis County Council, as the president of the institution, Alin Nica, had announced last year.

"Two years ago, we had a promise from the former minister of culture, that he would bring such a section here in Timisoara. The new minister, I understood that he took over and shared this desire, but it will no longer be us, those from the County Council, let's say, intermediaries of this section, but those from the ministry who will take care of this matter. We had an initiative to make this section including at "Pestera Romanesti".

Regarding this year's Romanian Cave Concert, the event will be financed with funds secured through a call for projects of the Timis Culture and Art Center, being assumed in the bidbook of the European Capital of Culture, Alin Nica also states. The concert was rejected for financing through the TimCultura program.
