Romania is in advanced negotiations to import gas from Azerbaijan, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates and there is no risk that in winter we will run out of gas or rationalize population consumption, said on Tuesday, June 28, Ion Sterian, CEO of Transgaz, quoted by Agerpres.
He participated in the ceremony organized in Vadu, Constanta County, on the occasion of the beginning of the natural gas exploitation in the Midia project (Ana and Doina deposits), operated by the Black Sea Oil & Gas company.
"From the Ana and Doina areas, 3 million cubic meters of gas per day enter the national system, an amount that was forecasted several years ago. The gases are of very good quality, with a methane content of over 90%. These will help reduce dependence on imported gases", Sterian said.
According to Sterian, during the summer, the country's consumption is between 13 and 15 million cubic meters per day.
