The Yahoo! portal is now available in Romanian also and provides news and weather information, and local users can create an e-mail account ending in .ro.

In mid-November last year Yahoo! announced that the Romanian portal would be launched in early March 2011 and would provide email and messaging services.

So far, the only working Romanian page is the one where users log in their username and password to access the e-mail, while the messaging service is available in English only. The portal is available at ro.yahoo.com.

At the end of last year, the services provided by Yahoo! were used in Romania by 8.2 million people, around 80 percent of those with Internet access, assessed the commercial director of Yahoo! for the EMEA region, Marvin Liao.

Overall, Yahoo! comes in 43 languages worldwide.
