The weather forecasts predict significant fall in temperatures and in some areas of the country frost might set in.

The meteorologists expect normal temperatures and precipitation for winter in January and February.

The weather warning concerning intensifications of the wind ended on Friday but the National Institute of Meteorology raises the signal that temperatures will decrease a lot and the weather will be frosty in some parts of the country.

Problems could still appear in the hydrological sector, the warning for code orange regarding the surpass of defence limits, meaning that the rivers are overflowing theirs banks, is maintained on the Romanian part of the Tisa River as well as the Iza and the Vişeu rivers in Maramureş county.

In Satu Mare the defence limits could be surpassed on the Tur and the Crasna rivers in Verveni and Domâneşti.

Regarding the situation on the Danube, the hydrologist at work, Lidia Sălăjan, informs that the code yellow is maintained at Gruia, Bechet, Zimnice, Isarcea, Corabia, Turnu-Măgurele, Feteşti-Cernavodă and Tulcea.

In the next hours, the Mureş River could flood the county road crossing the villages Iernut and Lechinţa. According to the Traffic Information Centre of the Police no roads have been closed roads because of the bad weather at the moment.

Still there are traffic difficulties on different sectors of roads in ten counties in the country. The biggest problems were in the town Borşa, Maramureş county, where because of the snow storm and the 50 km per hour wind which made visibility possible under 100 metres.

According to the weather forecasts on short term, in the next two months the temperatures will be between the maximum and the minimum winter limits.

Regarding precipitation, the weather forecast predicts normal rainfalls, which might intensify in the west and south-east of the country in January.

The short term weather forecast predicts the possibility of extremely low temperatures or larger quantities of precipitation for a relatively short time.
