Romania stands by the families of the terrorist attack victims and is continuing its efforts to bring home those still held hostage.
Luminita Odobescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs: Since the beginning of this tragedy, Romania has been and continues to be in solidarity with the State of Israel, condemning in the strongest terms and at the highest levels the terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023, emphasizing its firm support for the fight against all forms of terrorism.
The President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania, MP Silviu Wexler, also welcomed the position taken by Romania and the role played by the Romanian authorities since the beginning of the conflict.
Silviu Wexler: For all, perhaps sometimes our mistakes, for the problems we have encountered, the fact that there was a single voice among the Romanian leadership is truly a sign of friendship. You see and realize friendship when it is really difficult.
Israeli representatives thanked the Romanian authorities for their unreserved gestures of solidarity and friendship.
More than a hundred civilians are still being held captive by terrorist organizations and the authorities are working to free them.
