The United States has no "better ally and friend than Romania" in the region and, in order to attract US investors, Romania must ensure a "predictable and transparent" business climate, the US Ambassador to Bucharest, Hans Klemm, said on Thursday.
Ambassador Klemm spoke - together with the Head of the Romanian Government, Mihai Tudose - in the opening of the Trade Winds forum, which brings to Romania the most important trade mission from the US.
"We work very well to bring peace and security to this region, in the transatlantic community, we are fighting together on battlefields away from Romania.
Along with military cooperation, we are taking a very strong fight against corruption, against terrorism, organized crime, trafficking in human beings and intelligence", said Hans Klemm.
Trade Winds is the largest trade promotion event organized annually by the US Department of Commerce, and the 2017 edition is the 10th one.
From 16 to 24 October, Romania is the main destination for the economic mission which will also be in Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Croatia.
Officials and business people across the region are invited to attend the Business Forum in Bucharest.
