Britain's Royal Air Force begins its air policing mission in Romania next week, the Ministry of National Defence says.
The British detachment, made up of around 220 military personnel - pilots and technical staff - and six Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft will carry out reinforced air policing missions over the next four months, together with Romanian Air Force soldiers, under NATO command.
The certification ceremony of the British detachment deployed in Romania will take place on Tuesday 9 April at the 57th Air Base "Mihail Kogalniceanu". This is the fifth rotation at Mihail Kogalniceanu of the British Royal Air Force, after those in 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022.
