Over 40.000 people visited the U Barracks in Timisoara, in just three months.
The building, in disrepair for many years, was transformed into a large art gallery and became one of the most spectacular and visited spaces in the European Capital of Culture program.
Sorina Jecza, president of the Triade Foundation, doctor of visual arts: It surpasses any kind of expectation of ours. We imagine that by the end of the year we will gather somewhere around 30.000 people, but only in the first month there were half of them, so in the first month there were 15.000 people. The fact that this space attracts such an audience proves once again that the architectural and curatorial concept was well thought out enough to make it work.
Producer: The gallery includes four permanent exhibitions and four other guest exhibitions, and the courtyard of the U Barracks was set up for concerts and other events, Radio Romania Timisoara states.
