The Turkish ambassador praises Romania's purchase of Bayraktar TB2 drones

Romania will add Bayraktar TB2 drones to its arsenal, the Turkish ambassador to Bucharest, Ozgur Kivanc Altan, announced on Twitter.
"Romania, friend, neighbor on the Black Sea and NATO ally, adds Bayraktar TB2 SIHA to its arsenal. This strategic capability, through which many battles have been won, is a new sign of our strategic partnership with Romania", the Turkish diplomat wrote on his social media page.
On September 1 last year, the Ministry of National Defense requested the prior approval of the Parliament for the acquisition of three Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aircraft systems, and the reunited Permanent Bureaus approved the request.
The value of the purchase contract, without VAT, was estimated at 300 million dollars, based on the substantiation data collected up to that moment, the exact value to be established following the completion of the purchase procedure.
"The acquisition of three Bayraktar TB2 UAS systems of 6 aerial platforms each with target-hitting capabilities is under consideration, along with an initial logistical support package and specific training and training equipment. The mentioned UAS systems are intended for structures within the Land Forces which acts in the operational environment and provides real-time, continuous or long-term informative support, simultaneously with the possibility of engaging the target, without endangering the physical integrity of the aviation personnel", the MApN request states.
