The Supreme Court upheld the appeal of the United Right Alliance against the decision of the Central Electoral Bureau rejecting its constitution protocol.
The magistrates thus annulled the CEB's decision on Sunday rejecting the protocol at the request of the PSD representative.
The Electoral Bureau had reasoned that in the Register of Political Parties Cristian Diaconescu appeared as president of the PMP, while the act of constitution of this electoral alliance, which also includes USR and Force of the Right, was signed on behalf of PMP by Eugen Tomac and Ionut Simionca.
In a first reaction to the High Court's decision, USR leader Catalin Drula said it was an act of justice and that the CEB decision was an abuse.
For his part, PMP president Eugen Tomac said that in this case, freedom of association and democracy had won.
