The state of alert was extended by 30 days

The state of alert was extended again yesterday, in Romania, by another 30 days. The only change compared to previous months is that the formula for calculating the incidence of COVID-19 cases is changing, says RRA editor Victor Gheorghe.
Victor Gheorghe: According to the decision adopted by the Government, all measures to prevent and limit the spread of SARS-CoV-2 are maintained, among them: mandatory mask everywhere, traffic restrictions between 23:00 and 5:00, with known exceptions, shops closing at 21:00. Also, private events are still prohibited, and restaurants, theaters and cinemas will be closed indoors in areas where the incidence rate exceeds 3 cases per 1.000 inhabitants in 14 days. The novelty would be that the calculation of the incidence rate no longer provides for the exclusion of outbreaks from hospitals and care institutions, which would increase the statistical number of COVID cases and could implicitly have effects on the imposition of restrictions, but according to the Prime Minister Florin Citu, after the government meeting, this measure will not enter into force immediately, but in two weeks, during which time epidemiologists will present an analysis of the situation.
