Articol de Radio România Actualităţi, 21 Martie 2021, 06:32
The spring equinox, the moment that marks the beginning of the astronomical spring, occurred yesterday, at 11:37, according to the "Admiral Vasile Urseanu" Astronomical Observatory.
Starting with this date, the length of the day will be constantly increasing, and that of the night - decreasing until June 21, when the summer solstice will take place.
According to astronomers, the phenomenon is valid only for the northern latitudes of the Earth.
In the southern hemisphere, this moment marks the beginning of the astronomical autumn.
At the same time, in the polar regions, in the northern hemisphere, begins the long polar day, and in the southern one begins the polar night, which will last six months each.
