RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The Senate has adopted the legislative proposal of some unaffiliated parliamentarians to amend the Administrative Code, whereby, for reasons of budget efficiency, the number of secretaries of state is limited to four and the number of undersecretaries of state within each ministry is limited to three. The initiators of the project also propose, among other things, the reduction of the number of positions in the prime minister's cabinet to 12, compared to 18 positions at present. And for the local administration, the proposal provides for seven posts for the office of the general mayor of the city of Bucharest, compared to 13 at present, four posts compared to six for the offices of the presidents of county councils, of the mayors of the municipalities that are the seat of the county and of the capital's sectors, and for the chancellery of the prefect. The legislative proposal will now be debated by the Chamber of Deputies, the decision-making body in this case.
