The seaside is a new destination for Romanians on New Year's Eve.
Seaside hotels have prepared offers for all budgets for the night between the years, and prices start from 196 lei for a room and go up to 7.000 lei.
The desire to see the sea even in winter has led many Romanians to opt for New Year's Eve packages in Mamaia or Eforie Nord rather than in the mountains, which is the preferred destination during this period.
People have booked both early and at the last minute, some hotels being close to capacity.
The cheapest accommodation offer from 29 December to 2 January comes from Eforie Nord, at a three-star villa: 196 lei per night for a double room.
Also here, at a three-star hotel, for a three-night package with a full board and festive New Year's Eve dinner, two people will pay 3.585 lei.
More expensive packages, including spa and wellness services, have also been successful at a four-star hotel in Mamaia.
Two people will pay 7.190 lei for a three-night stay with full board, therapies for ladies and gentlemen, New Year's Eve party and fireworks, access to the spa for indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym.
