Producer: The government put into practice the decision announced a few days ago, it increased the budget workers' salaries by a quarter of what should have been increased this year. Several categories of employees, including health workers, already have incomes at this year's level and the increase is not applied to them.
Also, the first financing contracts for projects included in the "Anghel Saligny" National Investment Program, intended for the development of local communities, were signed. Water and sewage networks have priority, roads are equally important, but they will be rehabilitated where the municipalities have requested money for such a thing only after the water is introduced. We must avoid the situation where a repaired road is later broken because we remembered that we do not have water in the commune - explained the Minister of Development recently. Our reporter at the Government, Andrei Serban, with all the information:
Reporter: The "Anghel Saligny" program has a value of over 10 billion euros and so far approximately 3.700 projects have been submitted by local authorities. Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca drew attention to the fact that the distribution of funds and the start of works must be done in a balanced way throughout the country and urged the local authorities to coordinate with the Ministry of Development in order to meet the requested criteria.
Nicolae Ciuca: The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration prepared and organized the running of these programs in total transparency. They are intended for all local authorities, regardless of political colour.
Reporter: The salary increase for budgeters will be made from August 1, which means that the new salary will be collected starting next month. The increase is made only by a quarter of what the salary should have been increased this year, because that is what the budget allows. Concretely, an employee could receive 150 lei more, stated the labor minister, Marius Budai.
Marius Budai: In general, the increases will be around the amount of 150 lei per employee and there are employees who will receive even less, and, apart from the medical staff, who we already know is at the level of 2022, there are also employees in ministries that have already reached the 2022 threshold and those employees do not receive the increase. It should be noted that these expenses will be made within the already approved budget.
Reporter: This salary increase has a budgetary impact of 2.1 billion lei and approximately one million people will benefit from it.
