The governing coalition presented yesterday the package of economic and social measures in the context of the current crises. Some of the measures will take effect on 1 May and others on 1 June.
According to the president of PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, the measures will respond to the problems that the citizens have.
Marcel Ciolacu: This plan focuses on combating rising prices, supporting Romanian farmers and increasing processing capacity in the food industry. The added value must finally remain in Romania. Jobs must be here, in Romania.
In his turn, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said that the package is worth 17.3 billion lei, of which 9 billion are European funds. The current coalition must come up with solutions to the problems of citizens and the economy, Nicolae Ciuca added.
Nicolae Ciuca: The package has three main objectives: supporting the economy for a healthy economic growth, achieving social cohesion and, of course, solidarity between generations.
From the mentioned package, 300 million euros are for compensating the price increase. SMEs will receive up to 400.000 euros per company to stimulate investment, and transport companies will be able to pay 50 euros per liter of fuel. In addition, farmers will receive money in the form of grants, and the minimum wage in agriculture and the food industry will be 3.000 lei gross, RRA reporter Amalia Bojescu said.
