The Romanian College of Physicians requests an increase in the number of available spots for the Family Medicine Residency

The representatives of the Romanian College of Physicians request the supplementation of the number of available spots for the Family Medicine Residency.
They draw attention to the fact that this year only 321 places were put up for competition, and the number is insufficient, considering the data showing the actual need for this specialization at national level.
The College of Physicians states that in the next five years approximately 3.000 family doctors will reach retirement age.
This situation will reduce patients' access to first contact medical assistance and will put additional pressure on other medical specialties, claims the president of the Romanian College of Physicians, Dr. Daniel Coriu.
