Few people still know that a part of Aro Palace Hotel is built on the site of one of the most beautiful churches of Brasov.
50 years ago, in June 1963, the Reformed Church in the center of Brasov, located near Aro Palace was demolished in three days following the communist regime rule to expand the hotel.
The church had been built in 1892, being the only Protestant church in the city.
It survived two world wars, being built around it an elementary school and a presbytery.
All buildings have been though demolished, instead of them the Reformed believers receiving a gym.
50 years after the demolition, this Sunday, at 13.00, within the Reformed Church will be hold a memorial service at which are invited representatives of all religions in Brasov.
Also on Sunday, between 12.45 - 13.00, the bells of all the churches of Brasov will toll in memory of the old church in the center of Brasov and its founders.
