The researchers from the Romanian National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering have presented, today, at the international exhibition Astana EXPO 2017, the project of the world's most powerful laser that they want to achieve at Măgurele. RRA Special Envoy to the capital of Kazakhstan, Andreea Marin, comes back with a new story about this event, in “Radiojurnal”.
Reporter: In Astana, the official presentation of the High Power Laser Project took place in a hall which is separated from the pavilion where the layout is located, given the very large number of visitors per day. Most people want to know how the system will work, and the layout answers precisely this question. Visitors are interested in the areas where the new technology can be used and in the results that can be achieved with it. That's why the today's presentation made by the Director of the Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Academician Nicolae Zamfir, in front of government officials and multinational delegates, targeted the same answers.
Nicolae Zamfir: It is not just a project for Romania, it is an international project. That's how it was thought, this is how it will be.
Reporter: Are you satisfied with all the requests you have received so far from representatives of other governments and from researchers?
Nicolae Zamfir: No! I am not pleased. Of course we want much more.
Reporter: A presentation of the project was also made at the end of June by its Safety Director, Mitică Drăguşin, but in a smaller environment. Now, for example, there were representatives of KazAtomProm, the only uranium-producing organization in the world, a delegation from the Kazakhstan Nuclear Engineering Center or Jordanian businessmen.
Radio Romania Actualităţi (RRA) addressed the Astana World Exhibition 2017, which this year has the topic "The Energy of the Future", and Romania's participation, on "Probleme la Zi" show.
On Friday, the World Exhibition will host the Day of Romania, a new opportunity for Romanian researchers to present the project of the world's most powerful laser, the one from Măgurele.
