The process of merging hospitals will continue at a national level, according to Health Minister, Cseke Attila, who stated that changes are also possible.

However, the Ministry elaborated two lists of proposals in this respect.

Of the more than four hundred hospitals in the country, almost two hundred will merge or become centres for the elderly, according to the plan announced by the Health Minister.

The decision triggered a wave of discontent of the ones targeted.

‘It is much better to concentrate human resources in big hospitals, than having sick people in little hospitals.’

The analysis goes even further, they did not say changes wouldn’t occur, depending on the re-examination of each county and each hospital situation, but, from my point of view, this course of action has to be taken even though it is extremely painful and widely unpopular’, Attila Cseke stated.

The Health Minister went to Târgu Mureş on Friday, where he inaugurated the investments of the Ministry in the area.

We are talking about work estimated at 14.4 million lei, financed by the Ministry at the County Emergency Hospital and the County Clinic Hospital in Târgu Mureş.
