President Klaus Iohannis said today that "it is important for Europe to remain united, despite the difficulties it is facing, and to continue to provide the aid that Ukraine needs".
The Head of State delivered a message at the event organised at the North Railway Station in Bucharest to mark two years of Romania's response to the refugee situation in Ukraine.
"Tomorrow will mark two years since the start of the largest military invasion in Europe since the Second World War, an illegal action by Russia against Ukraine with major implications for the security and stability of the region", the President said.
Klaus Iohannis also said that "it is necessary for the Romanian authorities, together with international partners, to continue efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to refugees and especially to integrate those who are on Romanian territory".
