RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The number of new cases of COVID-19 has exceeded 30.000, for the second day in a row.
More than 100.000 tests were performed, which means that the positive rate remained relatively stable at 30%.
The number of people hospitalized has increased by almost 500.
There are now 731 patients in intensive care, 55% of whom are unvaccinated.
Secretary of State Raed Arafat, head of the Emergency Department, said: We need to monitor, we need to adapt, we need to follow the basic rules and especially the rule of wearing a mask, which we consider to be perhaps the most effective method except vaccination, which can prevent people from getting into a serious condition and reaching intensive care or even death. Otherwise, we are waiting to see this wave's evolution and at some point the number of Delta cases will probably decrease completely and the vast majority of cases will remain Omicron cases."
