RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - More and more ecological, electric and hybrid cars are being bought in Romania.
The data of the Association of Car Manufacturers and Importers - APIA, show that, in the first half of this year, there was a spectacular jump in the case of these cars, which reached a market share of about 20%.
The evolution is also given by the fact that, from 2035, we will not be able to buy new cars on petrol or diesel, according to a decision at European level.
Although the number of electric cars sold has doubled, we have only about a thousand charging stations across the country.
Invited to the "Morning Call" by Radio Romania News, the president of APIA, Dan Vardie, says that there is an imbalance in Europe in this regard as well, and Romania is in the middle of the ranking.
Dan Vardie: “Unfortunately, Romania has only developed through private initiatives. It is also true that there was European money that various mayoralties refused, it is very true that we have money in the NRRP for about 18.000 stations, but I have not yet seen any business plan in this regard. They are still enough for the electric cars we have. Unfortunately, many people who purchase an electric car want to charge it for free. We can't go for free. Sure, we can, today, but tomorrow it won't be possible, and it's a simple equation: before, when you put petrol or diesel in your car, how did you do it, didn't you pay?”
