The new support scheme for energy and gas consumers came into force. For domestic consumers, the price of electricity is capped at 68 bani per kilowatt for consumption of up to 100 kilowatts per month and 80 bani for consumption between 100 and 300 kilowatts per month.
For companies, the price is capped at one leu, regardless of consumption. For natural gas, household consumers will pay 31 bani per kilowatt, with no consumption limit, while companies will pay 37 bani.
For large industrial consumers, the government has promised another state aid scheme. According to the ordinance establishing the new support scheme, suppliers buy at market price and sell to consumers at the capped price, and then the state returns the difference. However, the situation is not to the liking of the suppliers, who signal that the Romanian state has delayed the settlements for the old schemes as well, causing them liquidation problems, informed the RRA reporter, Bogdan Isopescu.
