Next week, from Monday to Wednesday, Bucharest, where the meeting of foreign ministers from NATO member countries will take place, will become the diplomatic, European and Euro-Atlantic capital, says the Romanian foreign minister, Bogdan Aurescu.
The Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, who will host the meeting of the Ministers of the Alliance together with the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, showed in a video message that the meeting will once again demonstrate the unity and solidarity of the allies and seek solutions to counter the effects of Russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine.
Bogdan Aurescu: It is, at the same time, the first high-level allied meeting that Romania is hosting after the Bucharest Summit in 2008; and it is the first event that takes place in a state on the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance, after the start of Russia's war against Ukraine. Therefore, a very relevant meeting, which confirms Romania's role and profile in the North Atlantic Alliance and also indicates the strategic importance of the Black Sea for Euro-Atlantic security, therefore also for Romania.
The Romanian Foreign Minister also mentioned that Bucharest will host the Munich leaders' meeting on November 28 and 29, a fact that underlines the importance and key role of Romania at the intersection of two areas of strategic importance for European, Euro-Atlantic and global security: the Black Sea and the Western Balkans'.
