The Moldovan Parliament adopted the nominal composition and the leaders of the parliamentary committees, four of the ten standing committees will be led by the Communist opposition.
The Moldovan Parliament, situated at the beginning of its mandate, finalized the establishment of working bodies on Wednesday and adopted the nominal composition and the leaders of the committees.
Four of the ten standing committees will be led by the Communist opposition.
Three committees will be led by the Liberal Democratic Party of Prime Minister Vlad Filat, and two by the Democratic Party led by Marian Lupu and one by the Liberal Party led by Mihai Ghimpu.
The Moldovan Parliament took note of the Government's resignation, which has quit after the parliamentary elections in November 28.
The legislative body adopted amendments to the law and government, designed to streamline the work of the new cabinet.
The new law establishes the position of first vice prime minister, previously unexisting, and abolishes the office of Minister of State who during the previous government had led the State Chancellery and had been automatically a member of the cabinet of ministers.
The name of two ministries was also changed and for the coordination of the work of the executive a presidium of the government was set up that will approve the agenda for the meetings of the executive and during which the decisions are to be adopted unanimously by the representatives of parties from the Alliance for European Integration.
The Government will be composed of 16 ministries and there will be two vice prime ministers without portfolio. The Communist party has opposed to changing the names of the ministries, accusing the AEI that they, in fact, want the reorganization and elimination of the undesirable officials from the Executive.
These changes are preparing the investiture procedure of the new cabinet of ministers. The designed Prime Minister Vlad Filat, is to present the members and the program of his new Government to the Parliament on Friday. The Alliance for European Integration (AEI) of Moldova, composed of three non-communist parties, has enough votes to confer upon the government, but it can not elect a state president.
In order to elect the President 61 votes are required, while the governing coalition holds only 59 seats.
If the Alliance candidate, the current President of Parliament, Marian Lupu will not be sustained for at least two communist deputies, this law is also liable to be dissolved, just like the one in 2009, meaning that new elections would be held in November.
The AEI leaders seem though to be optimistic about succeeding in persuading the Communists by dialogue to vote for Marian Lupu as president and, under these circumstances, they seem willing to give the Communists even a vice premier mandate in the next Government.
