The Ministry of Health launched a new program for the treatment of stroke cases in public debate. Minister Alexandru Rafila declared that in this way direct funding can be allocated for the early rehabilitation of those who have suffered a stroke, in the neurology departments.
In parallel, he says, there is a need for specialists and more centers than the eight currently existing in the country to treat these patients.
Minister of Health - Alexandru Rafila: We must have a national network of centers that can treat patients as quickly as possible, either through thrombolysis, but especially through a pectomy, a complicated maneuver that requires specific professional training, performed by interventional radiologists, which are not so numerous as to be able to make these centers functional 24 hours a day, throughout the country. And then, together with the support of these professional societies of neurology and radiology, we managed to put together a certificate that started to work, to train doctors from several specialties and in this sense we also launched a program for the early rehabilitation of these patients, extremely necessary for their social reintegration and, of course, their health to be recovered as quickly as possible.
