The Ministry of Health is rethinking the allocation of funds for the construction of 27 hospitals that were to receive money from the NRRP

The European Commission ordered the adjustment of the NRRP, last year in November, for each member state, depending on the GDP achieved in 2020 and not depending on the Commission's forecasts, as were the initially allocated funds. Thus, this reduction led the Ministry of Health to rethink the allocation of funds for the construction of the 27 hospitals that were to receive money from the NRRP, Minister Alexandru Rafila explained again.
Minister of Health - Alexandru Rafila: The list of these hospitals should be revised, we had to find another source of funding, so that the hospitals that were no longer on the NRRP list would receive funding and continue to do so, and some criteria that were requested by The European Commission. Please note that the completion deadline for the large investments in this project, i.e. for hospitals or hospital ward buildings, is June 30, 2026, i.e. in another 33 months.
All these explanations come after, in the public space, the Government was accused of cutting health grants of 740 million euros from the NRRP.
