Producer: Almost 1.000 medical personnel from Romania volunteered to go to Turkey to help those suffering from last week's earthquakes. However, until now, there have been no requests from the authorities in Ankara, announced the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila. He says that under these conditions the registration process will be stopped.
Alexandru Rafila: The Secretary of State responsible for medical assistance has constantly checked these lists, so that we can be able to make medical teams that can move in the field. We are in touch with the Turkish Embassy and the understanding with them was that these teams would be prepared, but only if requested by the Turkish authorities, who must also ensure logistical support. So far, I have not had such requests, and I do not think it will be necessary in the future. We will stop the enrollment process, but the potential for displacement exists, on the one hand, and on the other hand, we have also made an inventory of the possibility of admitting polytrauma patients in hospitals, especially in the Bucharest region.
