The May 1st mini-holiday and the beautiful weather led many Romanians to go to the tourist areas of the country.
In the resorts of Valea Prahova, hiking is done, and those who reach the high-altitude skiing area of the Sinaia resort can still practice winter sports.
More than 75.000 tourists spend these days also on the seaside, where approximately 400 events are organized.
Music and gastronomic festivals attract tens of thousands of people to the beaches of Costinesti, Mamaia, Constanta and Vama Veche.
Law enforcement is on alert and overseeing the event to ensure it goes off without incident.
The gendarmes and the police intensified the controls and stopped 40 people who were trying to enter the music festivals, having banned substances on them.
The third day of the "Beach, Please" and "Sunwaves" music festivals passed, like the previous ones, without negative events.
Young people from the country and abroad had fun until dawn on the beaches of Costinesti and Mamaia.
If young people chose Costinesti, Mamaia Nord and Vama Veche, the gastronomic festivals attracted people of all ages. On the beach between Constanta and Mamaia, there were at least 7.000 participants in the "Grill Fest", an event open to the public free of charge, with culinary demonstrations by the most famous Romanian chefs, barbeque stands, competitions for children and recitals by the most popular artists.
Corina Martin, general secretary of the Federation of Romanian Hospitality Industry Employers and honorary president of the Restro Constanta Association: We generally attract families and families with children here. Everyone felt free to wander among the stands, to taste what they wanted. It's a grand opening weekend of the seashore season and lo and behold, we're attracting a lot of tourists, visitors and participants in these events.
Parties and events will continue from May 1 at sea in all resorts, and music festivals will end on May 3.
