The management of TVR approved the participation in the 2023 edition of the Eurovision music contest and also initiated steps for a possible procedure against the European Radio and Television Union, EBU, which decided to cancel Romania's votes in this year's competition.
In the first phase, Swiss law firms will be contacted to assess the chances and costs of such litigation, which should be settled under Swiss jurisdiction, according to Eurovision regulations.
At the time of the competition in May, the management of Romanian Television was even considering withdrawing from this competition, after the votes awarded, along with those of five other participating countries, were excluded from the final calculation due to irregularities found by the entities that supervised the song voting process.
