RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The largest IT center in the country, which hosts 13 multinational companies, will be inaugurated in Iasi on Tuesday. It is an investment made in the last four years, with a value of 120 million euros and with 5.000 new employees. Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca will be present at the event, and the United States ambassador to Bucharest, Kathleen Kavalec, is also expected to attend. This morning the head of the government also went to the "Sfanta Maria" Children's Hospital, the largest pediatric medical unit in Moldova.
Constantin Mihai from Radio Romania Iasi reports: "The project to consolidate and modernize the "Sfanta Maria" Children's Hospital was signed in October 2017. The works have a value of 27 million euros and were started in September 2019. Sections 1 and 3 of the hospital were consolidated. Work is now underway on two floors of section 2 and the expansion of the emergency department. The second objective, in Iasi, the inauguration of the Palas 2 creative and innovation hub. The investment was started in June 2019. Today it is ready. The project has a value of 120 million euros. The total built area is 60.000 square meters. If we add Palas 1, in total, in the center of Iasi we have an area of 130.000 square meters. By far, today Iasi is the biggest IT hub in the country. The United States ambassador to Bucharest, Her Excellency Kathleen Kavalec, is also expected at today's inauguration. The last stage of the visit from Iasi: the Antibiotic Society. The company is a strategic unit established in 1955. Last December, the new factory was inaugurated. A 50% increase in production is allowed. The investment was 20 million euros. Last week, in Luxembourg, the management of the company Antibiotice signed a consultancy agreement for the strategic development of the company."
