The Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, said that last night's regrettable incident in Poland on the border with Ukraine shows us how difficult and sensitive the security situation created by the war waged by Russia is.
In his opinion, at this moment, it is very important that the circumstances of this incident be quickly clarified:
Bogdan Aurescu: We need to find out exactly what are the causes of this incident. The meeting of the North Atlantic Council continues today. All the allied ambassadors, together with the NATO Secretary General discuss the data and information that are valid at this moment. It is premature to pronounce on the causes of the incident and, consequently, on the measures that would be decided by the North-Atlantic Alliance.
Both the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, and the Prime Minister have shown that Romania is fully in solidarity with Poland in these very difficult moments and that we express our condolences for the two victims who appeared, unfortunately, following this incident.
