The heat wave is returning to the southern half of the country, where temperatures will reach as high as 39 degrees and the nights will be tropical.
In fact, meteorologists issued a yellow code for heat valid until Wednesday, for 18 counties, including the Capital. At the same time, however, a yellow code for temporarily accentuated atmospheric instability came into force this morning. The warning targets the north and center of the country and expires tonight at 23:00.
Meda Andrei, National Meteorological Administration: Until mid-week, the yellow code for high thermal discomfort will be maintained in the southwestern and southern regions of the country. In these parts, the temperature index - / ... / will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units over large areas, and the maximum temperatures will generally be between 34 and 38 degrees.
In addition, in some places, the minimum temperatures will not fall below 20 degrees. At the same time, until 23:00, a yellow code of temporarily accentuated atmospheric instability will be in force. It will be valid for Transylvania, most of Moldova and, locally, Maramures, northern Muntenia, as well as in mountainous areas; there we expect showers that will have torrential character, electric discharges, wind intensifications, storms and hail, and the quantities of water will be able to exceed in some places even 25-45 liters per square meter.
In the rest of the country, better weather, with a clearer sky, but it is not excluded that phenomena of atmospheric instability will appear in these areas also.
In the capital also, until the middle of the week, we expect hot weather during the afternoons. The maximum temperatures in the capital will be between 34 and 37 degrees, and the minimums will generally be around 18-21 degrees. Phenomena associated with atmospheric instability, ie wind intensifications, showers and electric discharges will be possible especially in the second part of Tuesday, on Tuesday night to Wednesday and during Wednesday, Rador reports.
