The COVID green certificate becomes mandatory starting Monday, for access to certain activities in any locality where the SARS-CoV-2 infection rate is between 3 and 6 cases per thousand inhabitants.
According to the government decision, the document is not required for children under 6 years of age.
The document will be requested at shows, at the cinema, for entry to the swimming pool for sports competitions, at weddings and baptisms, where there will be certain restrictions related to the number of participants.
Through the green certificate, a person proves that he is vaccinated or has a negative test or has had the virus and is now cured.
However, experts say that the green certificate should not be adopted among a government decision, but by a law passed by Parliament, on the grounds that it would restrict some fundamental rights.
Prime Minister Florin Citu explained that using the document is the best way to stop closing economic activities and showed that the application for verifying green certificates can be easily downloaded from the Internet by any economic agent.
