The Government, ‘Zero tolerance towards corruption’
The Prime Minister Emil Boc has declared that the government has zero tolerance towards corruption and tax evasion.

He stated that the occurrences from the past few days from the border points has no political color and that he will dismiss any appointed official who is prosecuted by the Prosecutor's Office, regardless which party they belong to.
‘I fired and I will fire any official that the Prosecutor's Office decides to prosecute. I urge the opposition to leave the state institutions to do their job without involving political overtones’, Emil Boc said.
He stated that the problem of corruption and tax evasion is not a new problem, but a 20 years old problem.
Prime Minister Emil Boc said on Thursday that he is unaware of the involvement of any representative of the party in the case of customs and described as ’immoral’ the fact that PDL is considered guilty in this case, arguing that the party was the only one who started the war against corruption.
‘This action is not brought against any party and all those responsible must answer. It is immoral to accuse a party which was the only one that had the will to initiate a war against corruption in the past 20years’, Boc said in a press conference at the Government.
‘No other government has taken measures to combat tax evasion at border points in Romania’, Prime Minister Tăriceanu said.
‘Cleaning corruption’
Emil Boc said that the results of the operations to combat corruption at customs Romania will have an impact that will be felt by the state budget.
Prime Minister says that the actions initiated at customs these days are a cleaning approach to corruption and evasion practices.
Wednesday evening, the National Customs Authority leader, Traian Radu Mărginean, was dismissed by the decision of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Emil Boc convened at the Victoria Palace the Finance Minister George Ialomiţianu, Interior Minister Traian Igaş and National Agency for Fiscal Administration President Blejnar Sorin for new talks on the situation in customs.
‘We had a meeting with Sorin Blejnar and I resume what I said: any official to be prosecuted will be dismissed’, Emil Boc concluded.
