RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Next week, the government will continue the discussions related to the budget for next year. The main challenges are the payment of increased pensions and the continuation of large investment projects.
Andrei Serban has details: "Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu gave numerous assurances that the new pension law is sustainable and that next year's budget will be able to increase pensions twice, from January 1 by 13.8 percent and by recalculation up to 1 September. The continuation of large investment projects is the priority of the Ciolacu cabinet and for the budget for 2024, the Minister of Finance, Marcel Bolos, also drew attention.
Marcel Bolos: "A budget that must remain focused on investments and on a material basis, because we have quality services and quality public services if we have an appropriate infrastructure and an appropriate material basis, and in this sense we are building the budget for the year 2024, a budget oriented towards investments and in which investments are the engine of economic development of Romania."
Marcel Bolos also said that the budget of the Ministry of Education will have a very large increase next year, especially to finance the investment projects that are included in the NRRP, but all this budget must also cover the salary increase that the government promised for to end the general strike this spring."
