Romania has enough natural gas stocks to get through the cold season, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu assured at the start of Thursday's Government meeting, and said that the energy price cap will be extended.
The executive is also discussing the reorganization project of the National Anti-Drug Agency, so that the coordination of policies in the field will be under the direct responsibility of the Prime Minister.
The government's intention with the reorganization of the National Anti-Drug Agency is that young people who fall prey to drug traffickers should no longer be treated as criminals but as victims. This explains why consumer assistance has moved from the Interior Ministry to public hospitals.
Special centers for drug prevention among adults will also be set up in the state healthcare system. Thursday's meeting will also see the prime minister directly coordinating anti-drug policies.
Energy strategy for the next 10 years
The government will also adopt Romania's energy strategy for the next 10 years, under which we will become independent from natural gas imports by 2027. On the other hand, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu also announced that there are enough stocks to get through this winter.
Visit to Budapest
Also at the beginning of the Government meeting, the Prime Minister announced that he will leave on Thursday for Budapest, together with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Interior and Transportation, to attend an important meeting for Romania's access to Schengen with land borders.
