The Government unlocks almost 3.000 more health posts.
They will cover staff shortages in hospitals and ambulance services, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced at the opening of the meeting at Victoria Palace.
Also today, the executive is supplementing the Transport Ministry's budget by almost two billion lei to ensure co-financing for infrastructure projects with European funds.
Another 840 million will go to the metro lines in Bucharest and Cluj.
The 2.700 posts now blocked in hospitals and the ambulance system will be filled by specialist staff, after the government adopts a law to this effect at its meeting this hour.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said at the start of the meeting that this is the third time this year that health posts have been freed up.
Marcel Ciolacu: This is the third similar decision by the government in support of the health system, after those in January and February, when 10.000 posts were unblocked.
The Prime Minister also said that an inter-ministerial working group will be set up to find solutions to ensure that patients have permanent access to essential medicines at reasonable prices.
The minister, Alexandru Rafila, said the aim was to ensure that the national and European drug industry would no longer be dependent on raw materials from Asia.
