On Thursday, the Government approved the Action Plan for the period 2023-2024 for the implementation of the National Strategy on Immigration.
Through the implementation of this action plan, it is aimed to "develop a system to include temporary migration mechanisms, both in the mentioned period and in the long term, including through measures to facilitate the admission of foreigners to the national territory", it is stated in a communication sent by the Government.
"The proposed measures in terms of admission will contribute to covering the existing deficit on the labor market, the recruitment of students and researchers, the development of Romanian tourism abroad, the exploitation of the tourist potential simultaneously with the development of the tourism industry at national level, economic growth. A clear framework, and well implemented, regarding the legal ways to enter the EU, through an efficient visa system, will contribute to reducing the factors that stimulate illegal entry and stay, contributing to increasing the security of European borders, as well as the safety of migrant flows", it is stated in the document.
The Government decision approved on Thursday amends and completes GD no. 884/2021 for the approval of the National Strategy on Immigration for the period 2021-2024, the Action Plan for the period 2021-2022 for the implementation of the National Strategy on Immigration for the period 2021-2024, as well as for the amendment of Government Decision no. 572/2008 regarding the establishment of the Coordination Group for the implementation of the National Immigration Strategy.
