The government has foreseen a 69.7% increase in the money allocated to research, says the relevant minister, Sebastian Burduja. In Bistrita, he declared that the final goal of this measure is technological transfer, which means added value for the economy.
Sebastian Burduja: Never in history has the Research budget increased by 70%. This gives us confidence that we can finance the great research projects of Romania, our research institutes and especially the partnerships between the private sector, research organizations, academic sector. In fact, the purpose of research is not only a theoretical one, it must result in technological transfer, in added value for the economy, and all countries that have managed to develop their economies have done so by investing in their own capacity for innovation. This means that they develop new products and services. From the Research budget, we will allocate lot of money for these technological transfer projects, because one of the problems that Romania had is that it had a very theoretical research. We are very good at producing studies, articles, that is also important, but it is also important to have transfer in the real economy.
