RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - 21 billion euros is the sum of money the Government intends to attract in the next period from the European Union's 2021-2027 budget.

With this money, new road connections will be made with European countries, vulnerable groups will be supported and the business environment will be developed.

With details, Andrei Serban: “Romania has at its disposal 31 billion euros, which it can access from the 2021-2027 budget of the European Union. This money can be obtained through 16 operational programs that the Government sends to the European Commission. So far, 11 such programs have been completed, totaling €21 billion and covering projects of national interest and the development of the country's regions. We're talking about the development of high quality transport infrastructure, in order to ensure the connectivity between Romania and the rest of the EU, but also between the regions of the country. Vulnerable groups will be supported and measures will be continued starting this year, such as providing aid for the purchase of products and hot meals. An important area is education, in which the aim is to increase access to it by improving participation in preschool education, preventing early school drop-outs, increasing the participation of disadvantaged groups in education and professional training, but also by improving the quality of educational services, labor market adaptation and technology. In addition to national programs, operational programs dedicated to the country's regions exist. Each of them can receive at least one billion euros for education, digitization, carbon reduction, environmental protection and support for SMEs."
