The governing coalition did not reach a decision today on the merging of elections. PNL and PSD leaders had two scenarios on the table: combining local elections with the Euro-parliamentary elections, which the Liberals insist on, and the Social Democrats propose that the legislative elections be held at the same time as the first or second round of the presidential elections, which would complement the first scenario.
PNL President Nicolae Ciuca said before the meeting that all the hypotheses were being discussed.
"The coalition did not discuss and did not decide the combination of the European parliamentary elections with the local ones, nor the timing until the end of the year on the 2024 elections. We are discussing all the hypotheses", Nicolae Ciuca said.
