The general strike in pre-university education continues. Even yesterday's discussions did not lead to a solution that would end the protests of the employees, mainly dissatisfied with the level of salaries. The union leaders insist on a written commitment from the Government, in the form of an official document regarding the future salary scale, which would guarantee a basis of calculation of 4.000 lei net, but also for a temporary increase until the application of the new salary law in the public system. Yesterday they also proposed a new option for increasing revenues until the end of the year, but the executive's response is not known even after the meeting the leaders of the governing coalition had with the employees' representatives. Therefore, there will be a strike today as well, but the protest announced in Bucharest, in Victory Square, with a protest march to the Cotroceni Palace, remains valid.

The President of the "Spiru Haret" Federation, Marius Nistor: We do not want this conflict to continue. We all want to return to the classrooms as soon as possible, but everything strictly depends on the speed with which the coalition will make a decision. The protest is being held, at the moment there is no reason to give up on it. I additionally requested a meeting of the offices of the three federations with Mr. President, because it is his lordship's obligation to intervene at a key moment, at a critical moment, and to mediate in this conflict that broke out between the education employees and the Government of Romania.
